Nova Supreme

filled Nova Supreme is a high quality prefinished exterior trim board that has been processed to give you a clean, consistent surface that can be easily installed. These boards are primed and acrylic coated so they need only be painted to match you color and decor. The substrate consists of premium #2 common spruce that comes from selected mills in various sizes and lengths. We offer 1X4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 inch boards each in 10, 12, 14, or 16 foot lengths, and we have the same lenghts in 5/4X4, 6, 8, 10, and 12.

Production

filling The raw boards are recieved in our warehouse and inspected for quality. Material that does not meet our standards is rejected. Imperfections are filled so they will not appear once the board is painted.

Each board is then fed through a sander to improve the surface and clean off any additional filler on the face of the board. As a part of this process, the boards are inspected once again for imperfections that were not previously addressed, including the mill stamp, which is covered to prevent bleed through.

prime The material is now ready for the first coat of paint. Our priming machine quickly covers the board surface in a coat of primer in order to seal the grain and prepare the board for Nova coating. The boards then travel through an in-line oven for drying.

After priming, the boards are sent through a buffing machine and again checked for imperfections. Finally, they are again sent through the paint machine where a Nova Supreme acrylic finish coat is applied.

Paint

All Nova coatings are water-based latex paints that are made of vinyl and acrylic resins formulated for exterior use. The pigments, which are lead and mercury free, are manufactured by Dupont and have been tested in wind-driven rain situations and have been proven steadfast and fade resistant, even in sunlight.

After the 'Supreme' coating, the different lengths are mixed together into units that are sized for ease of use and shipment. Each unit is then wrapped with our Nova Supreme paper for protection from the weather prior to installation.
